Offcut — Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 10, 2026
In short: Offcut runs on your device. There is no account or sign-in, no analytics and no advertising, and the projects you enter are kept on the device itself.
Who this is about
Offcut is an Android app that works out cut plans for sheet goods and linear stock. It is
published by Leonardo de Almeida Ramos (lardev). This page explains what happens to your
information when you use it, and it applies to the app as published on Google Play under the
package name br.com.lardev.offcut.
Information we collect
We do not collect personal information. The app has no account system, asks for no personal details, and includes no analytics, crash-reporting or advertising SDK. Your name, email address, location, device identifiers, usage and project contents are not sent to us; there is no service on our side that would receive them.
What stays on your device
Everything you create in the app is stored in the app's own private storage on your phone or tablet:
- Projects, and the parts, cuts, sheets, boards, tags and kerf you enter.
- The cut plans the app works out for those projects.
- PDF files the app generates, kept in a temporary folder so that you can print or share them.
Uninstalling the app removes all of it from the device, and you can delete any project from inside the app at any time. One thing worth noting: if Android's own backup is switched on, a copy may already be in your Google account, and reinstalling can bring your projects back. See Android backup below.
When the app uses the network
The app uses the network in one situation: when you buy the one-time unlock, or restore a purchase you have already made. It then contacts Google Play Billing to check whether the Google account owns the product. Google Play processes the payment and holds the purchase record; we do not see your payment details, and no project data is sent along with that check. Google's handling of the transaction is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
Apart from that, the app does not need a connection to work. The INTERNET,
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE and com.android.vending.BILLING permissions it
declares come from the Google Play Billing library and are used for that purchase.
Android backup
Offcut allows Android's built-in backup, which is the one way project files may leave the device. If you have device backup switched on, Android may copy the app's data to your own Google account, encrypted, and restore it when you set up a new phone. That backup belongs to you and is governed by Google's terms; we have no access to it. You can turn it off in your device settings, under Google › Backup.
Files you share
When you print a cut plan or send its PDF, the file goes wherever you send it — your printer, your email app, a messaging app, your cloud drive. From that point it is handled by whatever app or service you chose, under that service's own policy.
Children
Offcut is a tool for workshop use and is not directed to children.
Your data rights
Since we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete on request. Deleting your data means deleting a project in the app, or uninstalling it. Refunds for a purchase are handled by Google Play.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app changes what leaves your device, this page will be updated before that version is published, and the date at the top will change with it.
